Today we have been sightseeing in St. Louis. we went to see the St. Louis Gateway Arch and even got to go up it! The Arch is 630ft tall and is as wide as it is tall. It's the USA's tallest monument (even taller than the Seattle Space Needle!). We went up in pods. We assumed that the pods were going to be like the ones on the London Eye, but they were actually only 4ft high and only one windowed door. 5 of us had to fit inside, one person couldn't even fully stretch their arms!
The trip was worth it though, we had great views of the Mississippi river and the Busch stadium.
We made our way back taking a trip on the metro to Union Station, where we looked around some shops and planned our meal out tonight. We also checked out the Convention Center where the competition will be held.
As we were walking around we met a few other teams who are also participating in 'FIRST' competitions. While we are here we hope to see some of the robots from FIRST Robotics Competition. These are different from FLL because they don't use Lego. Some of their robots are massive!
