Today was the actual robot competition. We had three chances at the table to score the highest amount of points that we could for the challenges.
Our first two robot runs weren't very good at all. Our second run was a little bit better, but not very good. We were disappointed because we know the robot can score many more points when it is working well at home, but our friends from other FLL teams were very helpful. A big thank you to The HIPPIES and the coach from The Brick Dawgs and all the other teams who helped us out.
Even though the robot runs didn't go very well, we were still smiling!
We had non-stop visitors to our pit area and a chance to give out sweets and flags and do some swaps.
In the afternoon we went to The Dome and watched the larger robots that are used in the FIRST Robotics Challenge (FRC). They are taking part in a competition called Recycle Rush where the robots have to move bins and crates. The robots are autonomous for the first bit of the competition and then are controlled by remote control. You can find out more about what the robots have to do in the video here
